It’s 10:59 PM in the office and my shift has just started. I’m feeling sore and tired and just sloppy (but not sloppy enough not to work my a** off). I just got home from Makiling Highlands in Laguna with my family and friends from church.
We left the house at around 5:30 A.M. Just right for travelling. And I was asleep almost the whole travel time.
Makiling Highlands is also owned by Monte Vista. More like it’s extension. I think it’s only 5 minutes (or less) away from Monte Vista, which is usually jam-packed this season, so we decided to go to the less crowded venue.
They have a number of pools, private and public, but there were only two that were filled up today (maybe because there were few guests). It’s definitely less crowded that it’s like we rented half of the resort. They have nice cottages and rooms for rent. They also have a videoke machine, although they charge 15 pesos for every token (it’s usually just 5 pesos).
The pools are large enough but not deep enough (only 4 feet max). The slides are messy, like they haven’t been used for ages. Also make sure you cover your food because flies could really mess up your idea of a good meal.
Overall, the place is just ok – nothing remarkable. But if you’re just looking for a place to hangout with your friends or simply getaway from the noise and pollution, then Makiling Highlands could be an option for you.
