5:30 a.m. - Just woke up… will go to Makati to meet a dear friend. I didn’t get enough sleep, but what the heck…
6:30 a.m. - Still at home. Crap! My new bangs really need special blow-drying. And I still haven’t figure out what to wear… almost all my stuff are in the laundry shop.
7 something- Finally, I’m off to Makati.
after about 30 minutes of waiting for a ride – I never thought it could be so hard to get a “decent” bus… I definitely don’t want to end up standing the whole trip. I’ve had enough of that in my college days…
almost 8 a.m. - Poor Carly. He’s been waiting for 2 hours now. I’m taking a cab to get there faster. 100 pesos is worth the the aircon and time to fix my hair (read: bangs!) and powder my nose.
8 a.m. - I found Carly slouching at the sofa at KFC. If it were me, I’d probably be fuming by now.
Since I already had my breakfast, and he already had his, we decided to go for coffee instead. Mall opens at 10 a.m. We sure do have loads of time.
Carl suggests we head to Starbucks, but no, I don’t think it’s a good idea. Most of the trying-hard pretentious bitches lurk in Starbucks (please note the most). It used to be a haven but since these loud people started swarming the place, I then prefer the less-crowded coffee shops.
10 a.m. - We head to Tony and Jackey, a Korean salon situated beside Burgundy in Pasong Tamo. Carl will try to have his hair done in this new place.
While waiting for Carl, I check the pictures of celebrities
10:30 a.m. - That was fast! The haircut is, well… very Korean…
But Carl complains that the hairdresser is very impersonal. My friend asked the hairdresser which cut would fit best and the hairdresser replied “It’s up to you.” Sweet!
11:25 – We’re already in Glorietta and Carl already bought movie passes to Hancock.
The movie isn’t as bad as what I’ve read in many reviews. In a scale of 1-10, I’d give it a 6 for its unpredictability, special effects and casting.
The storyline is probably the weakest point of the movie. I got confused with what the whole thing is all about. Is it about turning Hancock into a good hero or is it about him finding his true identity? I guess the writers lacked focus, which is why the story went crazy.
2:00 p.m.- Movie is over and we’re now dining at Mongkok. Another friend, GG, texted me and asked if we could meet today. So instead of our (Carl and I) plan to go home after lunch, we would still go to Mall of Asia to meet two of our friends.
4:00 p.m. - We reached MoA before 4 p.m. Carl picked up a shirt (which I chose for him) in People are People and I bought a pair glasses (which he chose for me).
Oh, and by the way, Carl is gay. So, no, we’re not a couple, in case you’re wondering…
That’s me with my new glasses and new bangs. Now I’m not sure which is better…
8:45 p.m. - I’m home, tired and hungry. I definitely had a blast today with my old friends. Nothing beats free movie and conversations over coffee.
